Rheinmetall delivers fourth mobile rescue station to Ukraine
Düsseldorf-based technology company Rheinmetall has delivered the fourth mobile rescue station (Role 2 type) to the Ukrainian armed forces.
The modern rescue station is designed for quick assembly and operation under challenging environmental conditions.
The station is comprised of three truck-trailers, each outfitted with two container modules featuring expandable sections.
Once assembled, these modules form a comprehensive medical treatment centre that includes various sections for triage, emergency care, X-ray imaging, surgical operations, and intensive care.
The design of the aid station allows for rapid relocation and operational readiness in a minimal timeframe.
In addition, the company offered specialised training to Ukrainian service members at the Rheinmetall Mobile Systeme facility in Meckenbeuren.
The training programme encompassed instruction on managing the mobile infrastructure as well as utilising the medical and technical equipment housed within the container units.
Among others, participating personnel were trained on rapid deployment procedures, patient care protocols, and team coordination during treatment.
Rheinmetall Mobile Systeme CEO Armin Krenn said: “The Ukrainian soldiers participated in the training in a highly professional and committed manner. Especially under the current operational conditions, safe handling of the systems and of the medical equipment is crucial for saving lives on the front line”.
In addition to its medical capacities, the system can be integrated into logistics and command structures due to its 20ft container configuration.
Additional deliveries and training sessions have been scheduled through to the end of 2026.
In August 2024, Rheinmetall secured contract from the Ukrainian Ministry of Defence to deliver eight additional Forward Surgical Team stations for its armed forces.
The delivery is expected to be completed by the end of 2026.
