Denmark signs contract for 129 CAVS 6×6 vehicles with Patria

Denmark has advanced its acquisition of Common Armoured Vehicle System (CAVS) vehicles by finalising a contract for 129 CAVS 6×6 units with Patria shortly after entering all three main agreements of the programme.
The agreements include research and development (R&D), the frame, and the life cycle management (LCM).
This follows Denmark’s recent signing of the technical arrangement in April 2025.
Denmark became a participant in the CAVS Programme earlier in 2025, joining other member nations including Finland, Sweden, Germany, and Latvia.
The initial batch of the CAVS 6×6 vehicles for Denmark is scheduled for delivery within the current year.
Patria Market Area Nordics vice president Mats Warstedt said: “Patria is very pleased to see that now also Denmark has moved to the serial procurement phase. The speedy and swift progress of Denmark taking all needed steps within the CAVS programme has been an excellent example of current multinational cooperation as it should be, targeting to increased interoperability and the security of supply between allied nations.
“CAVS programme continues to be a prime example for creating the desired common defence capabilities in a quick and cost-effective manner.”
The CAVS programme was established by Finland and Latvia and aims to develop “an armoured 6×6 vehicle system for the needs of EU member states”.
Sweden joined the programme in 2022, and Germany became the fourth participant in April 2023.
Finland, Sweden and Latvia have ordered around 1,000 armoured vehicles from Patria, with more than 200 units already delivered.
Patria, which produces and maintains protected troop transportation and system integration, signed a Life Cycle Management (LCM) contract with Finland and Latvia to bolster long-term operational efficiency for the CAVS programme in August last year.
On 20-21 August 2025, Patria is set to participate in Denmark’s defence industry exhibition, DALO Industry Days, taking place in Bellerup, Denmark.
Hosted by The Danish Ministry of Defence Acquisition and Logistics Organisation (DALO), the exhibition will also feature the CAVS 6×6 armoured vehicle.
